Jim Liekhus, Pastor
Fr. Liekhus has been pastor of St. John the Evangelist since
2008. He is from north Minneapolis, attended St. Anne's
elementary school, Benilde - St. Margaret's High School,
St. John Vianney Seminary and The St. Paul Seminary at the
University of St. Thomas. He was ordained in 2005,
and spent the first three years of priesthood as parochial
vicar of Nativity of Our Lord in St. Paul.

Deacon Jim Murphy & Char Murphy
Deacon Jim and Char joined St. John the Evangelist
in 1972. Deacon Jim was ordained a Permanent Deacon in 1992.
He is a graduate of Hopkins High School; U.S. Marine Corp
1950-56; BA Univ. of St. Thomas 1959; BS Univ. of MN 1969;
MA Univ. of St. Thomas 1977. Char is a graduate of Hopkins
High School; Management Development Center College of St.
Catherine 1982; Archdiocesan Certification in Ministry 1992;
Certification in Spiritual Direction Cenacle Sisters 2000.
They have five children and eight grandchildren.

Deacon Darrel Branch and Chris Branch
Deacon Branch joined St. John the
Evangelist in 1968, and Chris joined him when they married in 1985.
Deacon Branch was ordained a Permanent
Deacon in 2004. He and Chris lead Loaves and Fishes at Holy
Rosary in Minneapolis every other month. They also facilitate
a support group for couples who struggle with infertility,
and another for those who have lost a baby through miscarriage,
stillbirth or infant death.

Sister Patricia Beckman, OP,
Principal
Sr. Patricia Beckman, OP, is
a Sinsinawa Dominican sister who has been principal at St.
John’s since 2007. She earned her undergraduate degree
in English and Theology from Edgewood College of the Sacred
Heart in Madison, Wisconsin and her M.Ed. in educational
administration from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Sr. Pat has served as teacher, principal, associate superintendent,
and superintendent of Catholic schools in Illinois, Oklahoma,
Texas, Colorado, Wisconsin, Missouri, and Minnesota

Brook Sullivan, Business Administrator
Brook has been the Business Administrator
with St. John's since 2006. Prior to St. John's, Brook worked
as a Nursing Home Administrator. He is a graduate of the
University of St. Thomas and has a certificate in Nursing
Home Administration from the University of Minnesota. Originally
from Elk River, Brook and his wife Anne live in Maple Grove
with their three children.

Katie Schafer, Music Director
Katie has been a member of St. John's since
1998. She has been Director of Music since 2007. She received
a B.A. in Music from the College of St. Scholastica.

Margaret Stimmler, Director of Faith Formation
Margaret has been the Faith Formation Director since August
2006. Recently, she worked with an adolescent think tank at St. John’s
University drafting and reviewing the guidelines for adolescent curriculum
of the United States Catholic Bishop’s Conference. She teaches eight grade
religion at St John the Baptist Catholic School in Savage. Her training
ground for work with kids was a 17 year ministry at St Therese Catholic
Church in Deephaven. She received her doctorate of ministry from the
Minnesota consortium of theological education in 2001.

Mary Fran Karanikolas, Parish Secretary
Mary Fran has been the administrative assistant
at St. John's since 2004. Prior to St. John's, She worked
at Pax Christi Catholic Church and the Basilica of St. Mary
in administration and outreach. She is a Benedictine oblate
of Saint John's Abbey in Collegeville, MN. She and her husband
Bill live in Eden Prairie. They visit one son in New York
City and another son in Seattle.

Kirsten Kurtz, RN, BSN, FCN, Parish Nurse
Kirsten has volunteered as the parish nurse at St.
John's since 2000. In addition to nursing and teaching at
Ramsey County Hospital, she has served as a Dominican Lay
Missionary in Nigeria, and she was Assistant Executive Director
of her State Nurses Association. She and her husband Ham
have two children.

Tony Jaroscak, Maintenance Director
Tony has been Maintenance Director at St.
John’s since December 2008. He has two daughters
and a son. Prior to coming to St. John’s he
worked at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.
Tony has many years experience in the Building Maintenance
field and is looking forward to many more with St. John’s.
Tony lives on a hobby farm in Minnetrista.
