The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults
(RCIA) is a seven month process in which adults who are not
baptized or adults who were baptized in a non-Catholic church
may become Catholic, and adults who are baptized Catholic
but have not been confirmed may complete their initiation
into the Catholic Church. Weekly meetings begin in the fall
and are completed with the celebration of the sacraments of
Baptism, Confirmation and First Communion at the Easter Vigil on April 23, 2011.
Candidates for initiation are paired with
a sponsor from the parish and a sponsor of their own choosing
who can help them during this process. Classes are conducted
by Fr. Liekhus, and are offered on Sunday mornings from 8:30
to 9:30 in the parish conference room. Classes will begin
in 2010 on September 19. To register, contact Fr. Liekhus
at 952-945-9441 or frjliekhus@stjohnhopkins.org.
