Twenty-Seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time

October 8, 2006

Please save your Christmas shopping for our annual Book Fair at Barnes and Noble on Friday, November 24, 2006.  The Barnes and Noble at the Galleria in Edina gives our school 25% of the sales from that day when we use one of the vouchers from our school.  You will be receiving more information about this great fundraiser through our electronic e-mail, but we know that many of you Christmas shop early and we hope that you will use this day to shop and support our great school.

Stewardship Pledge Drive

Jesus calls us to take responsibility for the well-being of our worldwide community.  The St. John's Treasure Drive is one opportunity to demonstrate our commitment to this calling.  The St. John's Treasure Drive is underway.  Please be as generous as possible.  There is great need here and around the world.  We are the Stewards of Our Community.

Margaret Stimmler, Director 952-935-5536 ext. 4 or mstimmler@stjohnhopkins.org .
Children, The money you give each week at Sunday Mass will be collected to buy an angel for our Christmas crèche.  We need about $800 to buy the angel. It will be so wonderful each Christmas to see the angel the children of St. John's bought.
On Oct., Wed. evening, all 2nd grade children and their parents come to the Community Room at 6:30 pm to begin preparation for the sacrament of Reconciliation. The 2nd graders and their parents will meet until 7:45 .
All evening class parents drop their children at the Community Room at 6:30 pm and pick them up at 7:30 pm from the Community Room.
Parents interested in using the hour for Bible study and getting to know each other please sign up at the table in the church foyer. The opportunity to chat and learn more about the Bible might be just the opportunity you have been hoping to enjoy.
The next Confirmation gathering is Oct.15th at 6 pm. Students gather with the community for Mass and 7 pm students gather for class.
