TRAVELING CHALICE/VOCATION THOUGHTS
TRAVELING CHALICE reflections shared by a host family: "The presence of the chalice and the pointed picture (of our altar and priest's chair with no priest) was definitely a call for help. Our family was made aware that waiting around for somebody else to step forward into the picture will not be a viable option. . .we pray that we will develop a listening heart and follow Your voice on the path of your choosing." This week, Grace and Wade Dunkley and family will host the Traveling Chalice and lead our congregation in prayer for religious vocations. —The Vocations Committee |

Father Goman writes: By this date, I have finished 19 of the 43 radiation treatments, and so I am close to half-done. I have felt some unpleasant side effects, but nothing close to what they could be. The prayers and offers of assistance in so many, many ways keep me aware that I am not going through this alone. I am very grateful. I miss St. John's community, the Masses, and the children of our school and Wednesday night classes, and the Confirmation students. But I am glad I do not have to be "on" for those events. We who lead the liturgies of our faith know how much goes into the preparation and leadership of those prayers. That makes me even more grateful to those generous priest-friends of mine and ours who are substituting for me. Keep them in your prayers too —Father Ralph |
