Book Fair Day at Barnes & Noble

                         Friday, November 24

Osmo Vanska, Conductor of the Minnesota Orchestra, will be at the Barnes and Noble Galleria store from noon to 1:00 on our Book Fair Day, Friday, Nov. 24.  He will be signing the new CD of the orchestra's performance of Beethoven's 9th Symphony.  Not only will the purchase of this CD help our school, we will also wrap it for you, and any proceeds from the gift wrapping go directly to our school, as well.  See you there!

A special thanks goes out to all of you who supported our Cardboard Campout this weekend.  The youth are sleeping in cardboard boxes on Mainstreet at St. Joe's to raise awareness on the issue of homelessness and to also raise funds for ICA's drive to end homelessness.  ICA stands for Intercongregation Communities Association and helps people in the western suburbs in need of food, shelter and clothing.  If you would still like to support this cause, you can do so through November by sending a check to either St. Joe's or St. John's, made out to ICA with Youth Ministry in the memo.  Your support is greatly appreciated.
There will be no Youth Gathering this Sunday, November 19th due to our Cardboard Campout event this weekend.
Mark your calendars for an amazing event at the NET Center.  We will be heading to Lifeline on Saturday, December 2nd to see Tony Melendez, a musician and speaker who was born without arms and has taught himself to drive, play the guitar and more.  His lifestory is touching and faith-filled.  We will meet at Leo's Den at 4:30 for pizza (donation accepted), depart at 5 pm and return to St. John's at 10 pm.  The cost for this event is $8 and permission slips are required.  They can be turned in at the parish offices or in an envelope in the collection basket.  Adults are encouraged to attend as well.  Contact the Youth Office if you have questions or to sign up.

Benilde-St. Margaret's High School has notified us that two of our parishioners and former grade school students have been inducted into the National Honor Society this fall.  Our congratulations to Julie Cooney and Rachel Hersman.

Christmas Memorials

Memorial envelopes are available for donations to be used for Christmas flowers and music. All names listed for memorials will be included in a printed listing distributed at the Masses on Christmas Eve and Christmas. Return your Memorial Christmas envelope by Wednesday, December 13. Names received after the deadline date cannot be included in the printed listing. You may place your memorial envelope in the Sunday collection basket or bring to the parish office. Thank you.
