Confirmation April 12, 2008 at 10 am at the Basilica of St. Mary
Religious Education would like to include some new features next year for the Confirmation class.
Margaret is looking for adults from our parish to share stories from their lives with St. John's young people.
Here are samples of what she is thinking:
What was your Confirmation like?
Why are you a Catholic?
What would you want young people to know and love about the Catholic Faith?
What are you most thankful to God for?
Also Margaret is looking for parish leaders to train our high school students in the work of the parish:
How to be an usher
How to do a garage sale
How to teach little children
How to do the children's Liturgy of the Word, etc

Please contact Margaret at the Parish Office to help. Thank you..

The last “official” Ensemble Choir appearance will be this Sunday, the Feast of Pentecost.

I am so grateful for the support of all involved in our Music Ministry this past year.  Members of the Ensemble Choir, Schola, 6pm Mass musicians, Resurrection Choir, Children’s Choir and our keyboardists, instrumentalists, soloists, cantors and music librarians and helpers deserve many thanks for their countless hours of dedication and service.

I am sure all of them join me in thanking our parishioners who have supported us by your encouragement, support, and thanks this year.  By joining us in raising your voices in songs of praise to God, you have enriched our liturgies.

The choir will return in the fall, refreshed and renewed.  As always, we are looking forward to new members joining us for our Eucharistic Celebrations.

My wish for all of you is to have a happy, safe summer filled with music.  Remember to sing out at Mass wherever you are, and to “keep a song in your hearts.”

                                     Gratefully, Katie Schafer

                                     Director of Music Ministry
