This Sunday, May 21st at the 6 pm Mass at St. John's, we will be celebrating our graduating seniors at a Baccalaureate Mass.  Join us at Mass and at the reception following the Mass in the Community Room to support our parish high school graduates.

There will be no youth gathering next Sunday, May 28th due to the Memorial Day holiday weekend.  Our Youth Activity Nights on periodic Sundays during the summer will begin on Sunday, June 11th.  All Youth Activity Nights meet in Leo's Den at St. John's from 7:15–8:30 pm.  Pay attention to your bulletin for dates in which we meet.

Please support both your parish high school students and college-aged students who will be doing mission work in North Carolina and New Orleans in their upcoming fundraisers.  On Saturday, June 10th we will be "Bagging for Tips" at the Cub Foods on Hwy 101/Hwy 7 from 10 am–6 pm.  Do your grocery shopping there that day and we'll bag your groceries for you!

Outreach Opportunity This Weekend

Archbishop Flynn has designated May 20/21 as Global Solidarity Sunday in the Archdiocese of St. Paul-Minneapolis. This is an opportunity for each parish community to reflect on how it manifests its global solidarity through prayer and worship, faith formation, family and work life, stewardship, outreach and political responsibility. One expression of global solidarity on this Sunday is the Opportunity Outreach second collection, whose proceeds will go to Catholic Relief Services, the U.S. Catholic Church’s global relief and development agency, and towards the budding but vibrant Catholic Church in Central and Eastern Europe, Latin America and Africa. For example, through this collection, the Church in Latin America offers pilot grants to assist in formation of priests, religious and lay pastoral leaders.

Dear Parishioners,

This June, there is a small group of college students, who all participated in past mission trips with Hopkins Catholic Youth Ministry, who are going down to New Orleans to help with the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.  We could use as much support as possible; here is a list of items that we will need: work boots, bug spray, sunscreen, respirators, heavy duty gloves, latex gloves, band-aids, face masks, bottled water, etc.  Items can be dropped off at the Parish Office. Also, at the moment, we only have one driver who is over 25 for a 2-day long journey (both directions).  This is a problem because of car rental policies and age limits on drivers.  If you have any ideas or you are willing to help in some way, that would be greatly appreciated as well.  Please contact Jessica Friedlander; email: jfriedland@brynmawr.edu or cell: 612-720-8844 or you can contact Robyn Magalska at 952-935-5536 ext. 6 for more information or questions.  Thank you for your support.

Registrations for the new school year will be in the mail June 2nd. Please fill them out and return before the summer kicks in and you forget.

Volunteers are needed. I know you don’t want to think that far ahead BUT the Faith Formation Program needs people to be there in the classroom for the children. This year we had some wonderful volunteers , but we didn’t have enough to make the program great. In some areas, we “just got by.” Please consider being a part of this important ministry. Parents, teens, and members of the community without children or grown children are wanted. All your collective wisdom and time is needed. If you didn’t sign up at Time and Talent time, it isn’t too late, please call the office and do so now.
