WELCOME TO ANOTHER EASTER SUNDAY It is the time of year to remind parishioners to park on the pavement, NOT ON OUR NEIGHBORS' LAWNS. Parking is limited on weekends, and at funerals and weddings. Our neighbors are good and understanding, but they do mention once in a while that they wish our people would not pull off the pavement and park on their grass. Small request, right? Remember too, that the school play ground is a parking area whenever the school is not in session. Our Altar Servers are very efficient and holy young men and women, but there are fewer of them than ever. We will honor them at an Ice Cream Social and Awards night on Saturday, June 3, following the 5:00 p.m. Mass; we will also welcome new servers from the present fourth grade and older who are beginning their training. Parents and siblings are invited as well. Call 952-935-5536 or email ralphgoman@stjohnhopkins.org to let me know you are coming and how many will attend. The Minnesota Twins have given us a number of tickets for the Twins-Baltimore games on Friday and Saturday, June 9 and 10. Each server is able to request two tickets. Call in or email in your name and number of tickets and the preferred date; tickets will be distributed at the Awards-Ice Cream Social night. On Wednesday, June 7, we will celebrate an ANOINTING MASS at 10:00 a.m., followed by a luncheon. You must make a reservation for the luncheon by calling the parish office by noon on Monday, June 5. Two other priests will assist in this Mass. The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick can be received by anyone who is not well, or dealing with a sickness or chronic pain, or facing surgery or more limited mobility. This will be the last 10:00 a.m. Mass until school resumes in September. Mass on Wednesdays, beginning June 14, will be at 8:00 a.m. Our parish's FUNERAL LUNCHES are well known by families and mortuary staff people to be among the best—the best prepared, the best tasting and the best served. That is because of our Funeral Committee, which as most of you know, is made up of parishioners who call for volunteer offerings of salads, desserts and set-up/serve/and clean up for the luncheon. That group has been headed by a trio, Janet Beeson, Lorraine Duffy and Jennifer Lick. It is time to thank Lorraine and Jennifer for their dedicated contribution. Jennifer and Lorraine are leaving that leadership position. I thank them, and I thank them in your name for this wonderful hospitality to families at the most difficult times in their lives. —Father Ralph
