EASTER GREETINGS AND JOY TO ALL

There is a new and fresh Spirit in our parish, thanks to the young men and women of the parish who have accepted the Spirit of God into their lives by receiving the SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION on May 1, and thanks to the young children who welcomed the nourishment of the HOLY EUCHARIST for the first time last Sunday.  What great celebrations, and what a wonderful grace they have brought to each of us.  We continue to pray for them and for their growth in the Lord always.

Have you ever noticed what is available for you in the KIOSK located in the upper level of the foyer?  There are lots of information leaflets and brochures on various aspects of Catholic life; and there are information-education publications available too:

· The Catholic Spirit, our Archdiocesan newspaper with current, local, national and international church news items;

· The Catholic Digest, articles about Catholic faith and living that faith;

· four page information items on things of faith, like the Eucharist;

· and new to the kiosk is a booklet with excerpts from Pope Benedict's widely acclaimed encyclical on God's love for us—a rather bland title with powerful messages.

Notice that we are asking for a donation of $1.00 for the The Catholic Spirit, $.50 for The Catholic Digest, and $.50 for the booklet on the Holy Father's encyclical.  This is merely to help us cover the cost (we actually pay more for these items) so we can offer more good Catholic formation material for adults.

As you prepare for summer and possible travel, remember to honor the LORD'S DAY.  Mass times around the country can be located through www.masstimes.org or by calling 1-410-676-6000.  Remember what Sister taught:

There is no vacation from religion!
