Operation Rice Bowl The Transfiguration Every now and then we get a glimpse of the Kingdom of Heaven, as the apostles did when they saw Jesus talking with Moses and Elijah, the lawgiver and the prophet. We finally understand what scripture and the Church have been telling us about God’s desire, God’s way. This glimpse of the Kingdom of Heaven can happen when we place our feet in the shoes of our brothers and sisters who struggle with hunger and poverty, and see life from their perspectives. Catholic Relief Services has been helping the people of Pakistan through education programs that focus on improving the social and economic situation of the most vulnerable members of the community, often women, as a key to addressing malnutrition and high mortality rates. Please support CRS’ education projects with your prayers, fasting, learning, and giving with Operation Rice Bowl this week. Visit www.crs.org/orb to learn more.

ICA Food Shelf March is Minnesota FoodShare Month. Community and congregation support of ICA, your local food shelf is particularly important at this time. All donations made during March are eligible for important incentives, which increase the value of each and every contribution. Your monetary donation makes it possible for ICA to “stretch our dollars” and buy “more for less” by making food bank purchases. It is fast and easy for you to donate on your Visa or MasterCard by visiting our website—www.icafoodshelf.org. Checks may be sent directly to ICA, 3909 Williston Road, Minnetonka 55345. Call 952-938-0729 for credit card donations and/or food drop-off information. In February ICA moved the food operation into our new building at 12990 St. David Road, Minnetonka. We will accept food donations there Monday through Friday. Thank you for your generous support. Remember Tuesday, March 20th, the Ninth Annual Empty Bowls event, 11 AM to 7 PM at the Hopkins Center for Arts on Mainstreet in Hopkins. This event will benefit ICA FoodShelf and Hopkins Minnetonka Area Family Resource Center. See you there! |
