MAY GOD'S BLESSINGS BE WITH YOU ON YOUR LENTEN JOURNEY
Last weekend we met and welcomed the candidates and catechumens of R. C. I. A. (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults). Catechumens are those not baptized in the Christian faith and deciding about asking for Baptism as a Catholic Christian. Candidates are those baptized in the Christian faith and seeking the Sacrament of Confirmation in the Catholic faith. There are two members discerning Baptism, and there are five seeking Confirmation. Each has one or two sponsors who “walk” with them during the evening sessions we have on Thursdays and stands with them at the various stages of full entry into the Catholic Church. Pray for the catechumens: Boon Beddor and Elizabeth Thompson; and pray for the candidates: Josh Dettmer, Shawna Kluk, Todd Ley, Erin O'Brien and James Tobyne. Also. say hello to them when you meet them at Hospitality Sunday and at the ceremonies we have for them in church. Community speaks of God and God's love. Help them discover our God, His Son and our Savior Jesus, and God's presence in our worship and community.
THE FRIDAYS OF LENT this year offer opportunities for community, learning and prayer together. Soup suppers at 6:00 pm offer a change to have a simple Lenten meal with members of our parish. The 40-minute presentation following the supper offers an adult level education opportunity on areas of our faith life. At 7:15 pm each Friday we pray the Stations of the Cross together—we walk the way of the cross with Jesus and with those who accompanied him that day. Join the community for one, two or all three of these Friday evening events. —Father Ralph
