Registrations for the new school year have been sent. Please return them by June 15th .
Volunteers are needed. PLEASE HELP US PREPARE FOR NEXT YEAR. If you are planning to come back as a teacher or start teaching, please contact the office AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Parents, teens, and members of the community without children or grown children are wanted. All your collective wisdom and time is needed. Please know that catechists do not pay tuition. A background check will need to be done, and the fee is increasing as of July 1st. Help us to save money.
It is time to go. I write this with mixed emotions—my last bulletin article at St. John’s. I am sad because I am leaving this wonderful community that I have been a part of for the last 5 years. I have seen so much growth and change, it is difficult to say what I will miss the most. The children that I have seen grow and blossom in their faith have been a blessing and inspiration. It is said that the seed does not see the flower, but I have seen many sproutings, and I am thankful. I am excited about my new position as High School Faith Formation Coordinator at St. Joseph’s in Rosemount. It is an opportunity to build a program, and it is ONLY 2 miles from my house. Please know that Father presented me with a Bachman’s Gift Card from the parish. It will be spent in putting a permanent “something” in my yard—a tree, a trellis, or part of a new pond. Thank you for your prayers, support and well wishes. I will be around. The “other side of the river” is not another country. I hope you will stay in touch. THANK YOU AND I’ll see you later. All 7th Graders and older are invited to our Youth Activity Nights on various Sundays during the summer. Our schedule begins on Sunday, June 11th and June 18th.  All Youth Activity Nights meet in Leo's Den at St. John's from 7:15–8:30 pm.  Friends are welcome, and no RSVP is necessary.
Mark your calendars for our Valleyfair outing during the day on Wednesday, June 14th for all 7th–12th graders, friends and family. The cost for the day will be $23 (checks can be made to St. John’s). We will meet at St. Joe’s at 9 am and return there at 6 pm. Permission slips are required.
Attention Adults! On Sat., June 17th we will have a free-will donation Car Wash Fundraiser at Bauer’s on Baker Rd. and Excelsior Blvd. from 9 am–3 pm to help raise funds for our Sr. High Mission Trip. Stop by and let us wash your car! All students are welcome to help.
Former adult leader, Barb Weaver said her “…favorite aspects of [the mission trip] were the joyful Mass celebrations, the music and the kids. And doing service work made me feel useful, grateful and good.” Are you the adult being called to this experience this year? Our Sr. High summer mission is still in need of adult assistance—contact the youth office for more details.
