Arise and Eat, Else the Journey Will Be Too Great for You.” (I Kings 19:7)

FROM FATHER GOMAN

I CAN’T BELIEVE IT! There has been an offer on the table for tuition aide for our school since May that no one has taken advantage of. It is not too late, although the offer expires August 15. There will be a $1000.00 tuition deduction for a St. John’s parishioner family with a child or children in our school, in kindergarten through 6th grade IF that family recruits one or two new students whose family or families are members of the parish as well; the family or families will receive a $1000.00 tuition deduction for each of the two new students as well. That is a $3000.00 tuition aide offer that must be of interest and of help to some family in the school. The donor is anonymous, but anxious to provide help for Catholic school education here at St. John’s. Don’t keep this offer a secret. Contact Mona Faulkner or Father Goman with questions or for the application process.

GOOD NEWS ABOUT WHAT OUR CATHOLIC SCHOOL CAN HELP STUDENTS ACHIEVE: At the end of the school year a number of students from our parish received recognition for their academic achievements:

¨ Benilde-St.Margarets’ seniors CLARE DAHMEN and JOSEPH GARAMELLA received scholarships to the college of their choice.

¨ These former students of our school qualified for the “honor roll”: Francesca Morizio (DeLaSalle, high honors); Daniel Kriske, Julie Cooney, Jonathon Garamella, Rachel Hersman, Susan Kenzie (Benilde-St. Margarets, high honors); Clare Dahmen, Lauren Carisch, Elizabeth Penning (Benilde-St. Margarets, honor roll).

Congratulations to each of you! (You can be sure other students of ours achieved awards at other schools as well; they usually notify the parishes; however, DE and BSM were the only ones to do so this spring.)

                                                                                                                                              —Father Ralph
