Please keep the students and adults who are traveling this weekend on their mission trip to Oklahoma in your prayers. They will be doing service work for a week and return next weekend. On Sunday, July 15th, the youth will be selling pop and water on the frontlawn of St. Joe’s on Mainstreet during the Raspberry Festival parade. Stop by to enjoy a cool beverage and support the youth. We will be joining Boy Scout Troop 254 at the same location who will be selling sno cones, brats and hot dogs! Mark your calendars for our youth outing to Bunker Beach on Thursday, July 19th. Cost for the event is $12 (food is not included). We will meet at St. Joe’s at 10AM and return there at 5PM. Permission slips are available at the church entrances. Also mark your calendars for Wednesday, August 1st for our youth outing to watch the Twins!

Summer Missionary Visit

Weekend Masses of July 7 and 8

It is summer, and for most Catholic parishes that means a summer missionary visit.  On  July 7 and 8, a priest representing the Diocese of Butare, Rwanda, Africa, will celebrate the Masses and ask our prayer and financial support for the emerging Catholic Church in that part of Africa.  Like St. Therese the Little Flower, most of us will never be able to expand the faith of Jesus Christ in foreign lands; but, like her, our prayer and support of the mission work of the Church makes a significant addition to the commission that Jesus has given us all.

Text Box: Dear Parishioners of St. John’s, It is with  mixed emotions that I write to tell you that I will be leaving St. John's/ St. Joe's as Hopkins Catholic Youth Minister.  My last day will be August 14th.  An opportunity has come forward that I feel I need to pursue at this juncture of my life.  I will be taking a position at St. Bernard's School in St. Paul that is part teaching religion and part Campus Minister.  I have thoroughly enjoyed working here for the last seven years and leaving the people is what will be most challenging.  St. John's and St. Joe's have been very good to me and for that, I will forever be grateful.  I take away with me many fond memories.  Thank you so much for being a part of my time here. The Money Counter’s Prayer

Blessed are the parishioners who use their numbered envelopes, who write the amount in the correct box, seal the envelope without Scotch tape and staples. It makes our work easier. Amen!
