Prayer for the Troops

(The Most Rev. Edwin 0 ‘Brien, Archbishop for the Military Services, asks that the following prayer be offered whenever and wherever one has a few moments of time).

 

Lord, hold our troops

in your loving hands.

Protect them as they protect us.

Bless them and their families

for the selfless acts they perform

for us in our time of need.

And give us peace.

I ask this in the name of Jesus,

Our Lord and Savior. Amen.

St. Joseph Daycare Closing Celebration

St. Joseph Day Care in Hopkins will be closing Aug. 30, 2007.  We invite all current and past families and staff to join us for an open house to celebrate its 18 years of quality Christian child care.  The celebration will be held in the social hall of St. Joseph Church . NFP Week July 22–28

The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops has designated the last week of July as NFP Awareness Week. NFP stands for Natural Family Planning, and offers a scientific and marriage building opportunity by learning about one’s fertility. NFP Awareness Week supports couples by bringing awareness of spousal love. July 22–28 includes the anniversary of the papal encyclical Humanae vitae (July 25) the feast of St. Joachim and St. Anne (July 26). Human life is a beautiful gift and is to be cherished.
