Ecumenical Prayer Service Monday, January 22, at the St. Paul Cathedral All parishioners are invited to attend the Archdiocesan Ecumenical Prayer Service—on the 34th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade (the Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion) which will take place from 10:30–11:30 am at the St. Paul Cathedral. We will remember the millions of babies lost to abortion and all “the walking wounded”—the women and men who have experienced the trauma of abortion. We will give thanks for our own lives and remember the disadvantaged and vulnerable in prayer. Archbishop Harry Flynn and Rev. Mark Herringshaw, pastor of North Heights Lutheran Church, will preach, and there will be special music. A collection will be taken for the Archdiocesan Life Fund. One hundred percent of every donation goes to help pregnant women in financial need and their babies. The prayer service will end with ample time for people to walk the half mile to the State Capitol to participate in the March for Life and Rally sponsored by Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life at 12 Noon to 1 pm Pro-Life Action Ministries is also sponsoring a pro-life event following the march. Call 651-771-1500 for information. Please mark your calendar and plan to attend these January 22 events. |

A Big Thank You! Thanks to all who contributed to our parish food shelf for the Franciscan Brothers of Peace throughout 2006. The food donations were very timely and greatly appreciated. Several hundred families in the St. Paul midway area received food regularly during the year and at Thanksgiving and Christmas. A special thank you to our St. John’s School children for their donations of food. Thank you everyone for your continuing generosity. —Food Shelf Committee |
