From January 20th–28th, the youth will have decorated boxes at the church entrances to collect baby items for the Minnetonka Life Care Center. In response to the anniversary of Roe vs. Wade in January, legalizing abortion in our country, all parishioners are encouraged to drop off diapers, baby clothes, infant medications and other items for children and their parents who are in need of such items (no stuffed animals). Youth will deliver these items to the center on Tuesday, January 30th at 4 pm—contact the Youth Office if you would like to help with
this service project.

On Sunday, January 21st, there will be a planning meeting for all those signed up for this summer’s mission trip from 7:15-8:30pm in Leo’s Den. If you are interested in it, there is still space available. The trip will take place from July 7th–14th and we will be heading to Oklahoma City to serve. This is a great opportunity to help those less fortunate, meet other Catholic teens across the U.S. and have tons of fun! Contact the youth office for additional information.

On Sunday, January 28th, there will be a planning meeting for all Sr. High students and adults who are helping with the upcoming Quest retreat on February 23rd and 24th. This meeting will be held at St. John’s in Leo’s Den from 7:15–8:30 pm.

All 7th–12th graders should mark your calendars for
Friday, February 9th and 10th for our Ski and Snowboard Lock-In Trip! We will be heading to Welch Village for a special lock-in ski night where we will hit the slopes in the middle of the night. Meet at St. John’s
at 9 pm to depart for Welch and return to St. John’s at 6 am on Saturday. This is a fun and safe way to spend a night! The cost for the event is $27 for a lift ticket and $42 for the ticket, rental and lesson package (transportation is included in this cost). Friends are

On Saturday, January 13th 2nd graders from the parish made their First Reconciliation at 10 am at St. John’s.  Their families looked happy and renewed when they left church.  Remember to encourage these children when you meet them.  They are beginning their First Eucharist preparation this month. They will celebrate their First Eucharist on May 6th at the 10 am Mass.
A Great Big Wonderful Hour is happening for the children of St. John’s Church and School on Wed. evening, Jan. 31, from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm in the Community Room with song-strumming, story-telling, Jack Pearson. Adults, please plan to bring the children in your life for the sheer joy of sharing stories and songs with your kids.  May I suggest this would be a great event for grandparents to bring their grandchildren or God Parents to bring their God Children. Circle the date and time today.
On Wednesday, January 24, First Eucharistic parents meet for a parent meeting in the Community Room while children meet for their First Eucharist class with Rita Fox.
Confirmation-Sunday, January 21st: Mass at 6 pm: class at 7 pm (9th grade—bring your Bibles with the tabs).
All other Faith Formation classes meet as scheduled this week.
There will be a special event at St. Joe’s parish on Wednesday, February 14th, Valentine’s Day at 6 pm.
Confirmation students plan to attend.
