Thank you to all students and adults who assisted in any way with the 2007 Quest Retreat. Thank you also to the 1st Year Confirmation students from St. Joe’s and St. John’s who participated. We hope it was a great experience for you and we hope to see you help at it next year!
On Sundays during Lent (Feb. 25th–April 1st) youth are
welcome to participate in the Evangelization Initiative. These gatherings will take place from 7:15–8:30 pm in Leo’s Den. This is a great way to enter into Lent and join in on small group casual conversations. 7th–12th graders and adults are welcome. If you cannot participate on all Sundays, you are still welcome to come when you can.
All Sr. High students (Grades 9-12) are encouraged to attend our annual Famine on Friday, March 9th–Saturday, March 10th. This is an opportunity to enter into Lent fully, learn about world hunger, do your part to help reduce world hunger, have tons of fun and meet new people! The Famine begins on Friday at 4 pm at St. John’s and concludes on Saturday at 10 pm. If you cannot attend the entire time, you can still participate if you arrange in advance. This event will include a 24-hour fast (optional). There is no cost, but students are encouraged to get sponsors for their fast. Any donations will go toward Catholic Relief Services. Registration packets are available at both parishes. Call the youth
office for more information. Adults are needed at various times during this event—please contact the youth office to help.
Also, as part of the Famine, we will be going to Feed My Starving Children on Saturday, March 10th
from 4 pm–7 pm. All ages are welcome to participate in this event but there are a limited number of spaces

On Tuesday February 13, Father Goman came to the school and did the morning school prayer.  It was a

wonderful surprise to have him pray with us.  He then visited the 2nd grade class to talk about his “Career”.

He explained to the children the difference between a

vocation and a career and also talked about people who lead us to Jesus.  From the picture you can see how happy everyone was to have Father teach the lesson.  I have said it many times before, but St. John’s is so blessed to have a Pastor who takes the time to teach the children in the school.  The children will never forget him or the lessons he teaches them.  Thank you,Father.
