This Sunday, April 29th, students from both St. Joe’s and St. John’s will be receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation at 2PM at the Cathedral. Congratulations!  There will be no additional youth gathering this evening.

Coming next weekend…current 6th - 8th Graders should mark their calendars for Friday, May 4th for the Jr. High Spring Fling Lock-In.  We will begin at 7PM on Friday evening and conclude on Saturday, May 5th at 7AM for an all-night lock-in.  The night will include Ultimate 
Frisbee, Mushroom Ball, night games, ping pong, pizza, prizes, movies and a trip to Grand Slam Sports for unlimited Laser Tag, Mini Golf, Batting Cages and more!  The cost for the whole night is $18. Friends are welcome.  If you cannot participate for the duration of the event, you are still welcome to come but plans need to be confirmed with the Youth Office prior to the event.  Sr. High and adult leaders are needed – call the Youth Office if you are interested. 

For students who are looking for service opportunities, plan to help out on Saturday, May 5th from Noon – 2PM helping the Women’s Club clean up their 
Rummage Sale.  There will be ice cream afterward to thank you.  You can also help on May 11th – 13th at 
St. John’s with their Spring Plant Sale at various times.  Lastly, on Saturday, May 12th, we will have our annual Cemetery Clean-up before Memorial Day at 
St. Margaret’s Cemetery from 10AM – Noon.  Lunch will be provided afterward.  Bring a rake and gloves and meet there.  All youth and adults are welcome.  Call the Youth Office for more details on any of these projects and remember: “Many hands make light work.”

Opportunity Outreach This Weekend

35,000...The number of miles the Bishop of the Diocese of Baker, Oregon, travels by car each year to visit 63 parishes. Today’s second collection is the Catholic Home Missions Appeal. This Appeal supports the Home Missions—areas in the United States where the Catholic Church struggles just to keep parishes open and to educate people in the faith. Please give

generously to assist fellow Catholics here in America.

Wednesday, May 2nd—Our last faith formation class The First Eucharist Families will celebrate with a pot luck dinner.  All Faith Formation families are invited to join them in the Community Room at 6:30.  All families with last names beginning with A-F bring main dish; families with G-N bring bread and /or salads; families 
O-Z bring desserts.
Sunday, May 6th—1stEucharist at the 10AM Mass. First Eucharist Families gather at 9AM in Community Room.

Rosary Before Mass During May

During the month of May, the rosary will be prayed 20 minutes before the scheduled weekday Masses.  May is traditionally a month dedicated to Mary as our spiritual mother and intercessor with God through her Son.
