Those who approach the sacrament of Penance
obtain pardon from God's mercy for the offense committed against
Him, and are, at the same time, reconciled with the Church
which they have wounded by their sins and which by charity,
by example, and by prayer labors for their conversion. (Catechism
of the Catholic Church, 1422)
Our Confession schedule can be found on our home
page.
First reconciliation is celebrated when the children are in
second grade, before they receive first communion. The St.
John's School students will be taught specifically about first
reconciliation and first communion on Mondays during their
religion class. The religious education students will be taught
during their class on Sunday mornings. Fr. Liekhus and Margaret
Stimmler met with the parents of the children on Saturday,
September 26, 2009. The kids and their parents met at
the church for a mini-retreat on Saturday, January 9, 2010. The celebration of first reconciliation
was on Saturday, January 16, 2010, at 10:30 a.m.
Please contact Fr. Jim Liekhus at 952-935-5536 ext. 420 to register your child
for next year's first reconciliation.
